I need help picking a new laptop?

i'm getting a new laptop soon for school but i have no idea what to get. i need to be abel to multitask on it and be abel to run kurzweil 3000. a good amount of memory and a nice graphics card would be good. needs wifi and microsoft office but i can get that anytime. long battery is a must because not all of my classes have accesible plug ins.
the laptop has to be a windows runnin computer because kurzweil is windows only unless macs run on windows as well

intel core 2 duo quad or extreme 2.2+
3-4 gb of ram
a nvidea 9600+ or gst250+ with at least 1 gb of ram (or Ati radeon 4700+ with one gb of ram)
